Handling Objections

Be prepared to handle the responses (objections) you might hear.

In a Prospecting situation, you will discover most people offer the same objections for not getting involved. So, a key to success in prospecting is to learn to effectively handle objections by bringing them up before the prospect does and answering each of them.

"What is it?”
"Shaklee is a personal networking business where we help others develop their own businesses.”

"Is this like…?”
"What is it that you have seen or heard about…?”

  • If negative…”Our company doesn't operate like that.”
  • If positive…”Our company has a similar structure, but pays out more money through bonus checks and benefits to more people.”
"Is it a pyramid?”
"Of course not, they are illegal. A pyramid scheme is where the objective is to sell someone a large inventory for the purpose of resale at ever-escalating prices. Shaklee does not require you to purchase a big inventory - most start by purchasing only what we can personally consume in a month.”

"I can't sell.”
"If I could show you a comfortable way to interest others in what you have to offer, would you like to find out more?

"I'm too busy.”
"I know how you feel. That was the way I felt until I saw how this business and products could make such a positive change in my life. Then I realized I couldn't afford not to make time and shifted some things around to free up a few hours a week. Do you think you might be able to find at least 1 hour three days a week?”

"The products cost too much.”
"If you could get the results you are looking for, would cost still be an important factor?”

"If I could show you how you could earn enough money to get your products free, would that make a difference?”

"If I could show you these products actually save you money, work better than anything you've ever used and are safe and effective, would that make a difference?”

"What if the one that costs more works better?”

"I don't know if I could do it.”
"There are people all over the country who come into Shaklee with various levels of education and work experience and economic levels. In Shaklee we look for people who have a desire for a better future and are willing to learn to do what we do. Anyone can do this business!”

"I don't want to make money off my friends.”
"In Shaklee we don't make money off people. Success in Shaklee comes from providing the highest quality products that are essential in every home while at the same time helping others build a better future for themselves and their family.”

"I don't want to talk to my friends or family.”
"I know how you feel, but if I could show you a way to talk with them without jeopardizing your relationship, would that be helpful?”
