The Master of One

The following message in blue is one I received the other day via e-mail.  I have looked at it several times now and would like to comment on the meaning I get from it.

"It's far better to find a poor sales method, Master it and do it ... than to find several great sales methods and haphazardly do them all at the same time."

Part of this message is about focus and I would like to give you my view of focus.  I will start by restating the message.

"It's far better to find a simple process, Master it and do it ... than to continually jump on every idea, program or method that you hear about and confuse your group."

I certainly don't have all the answers to anything, but we have followed a very simple process that we learned here in the Minneapolis area. Talk to lots of people, use lots of Shaklee products to build belief, always show the earning opportunity to everyone, do in-home SPOM's every week (Shaklee Products Opportunity Meeting), continue the cycle and work with people who are serious about Shaklee.

This sounds very simple ... it is very simple ... and that is what we have stuck to for over 36 years.  We have learned various things from many, many Shaklee sales leaders and are thankful for that.  But the process we have followed is mostly the same and it works today just as it has worked for many years.

A major thing we learned is about telling stories.  Accurate stories about the products, about people and about the earnings people experience in this great business. Faye made a comment to me a couple days ago that I think is very true as well as very powerful.

"Stories are more powerful than a process (Steps 1-10), or a system."

Think about it!
