I was reminded of a quote I first read a number of years ago by Tom Landry. He was one of the most successful football coaches in the history of the NFL. He was known for being a rather quiet, determined, bright, disciplined individual.
Coach Landry worked with the cream of the crop of athletes. He coached with some of the very best year in and year out. He understood something that I think a lot of us don't ever think about and the following is how Coach Landry viewed his job of coaching the best people he could get.
"A coaches role is to get someone to do what they don't want to do so they can achieve what they want to achieve."
Think about this.
Men who dream about being the best, play the game for years, become the best at what they do, but yet Coach Landry understood they would have to be pushed to work harder because he knew what it would take to become the champions.
They wouldn't like being coached and pushed hard. But the coach knew what it would take.
Now to Shaklee. Most of us don't really enjoy prospecting. Some people do but most of us don't especially care for it. But yet we want a successful Shaklee business. There might be other aspects of building a successful Shaklee business that you don't like to do, such as follow -up, conducting meetings, making phone calls, etc. I think you get the point.
Our job as Shaklee leaders is to find people who fall in love with the products, have a desire to earn an extra $1000/month to $30,000/month, then understand that we all have to do things we don't want to do in order to achieve what we want to achieve.
Do you love the Shaklee products? Do you have a desire to earn more so you and your family can live different?
If you answered "Yes" to those two questions, here is the most important question. Are you willing to do what you don't want to do in order to achieve what you really truly want to achieve?
