The answer is simple and uncomplicated…invite them to your Weekly SPOM to watch what you do. That's the starting point. I've always believed Shaklee is best taught by the "Show" method…less effective is the "Tell" method. So, at the meeting, they can meet other people who are involved, see the products, observe success and see their future possibilities available through the Shaklee business plan.
Who does Weekly SPOM's? They should be held by both Sales Leaders and Business Builders. One key component in the development of a Business Builder into a strong new Director is to get them set up doing their own Weekly SPOM's in their own home. Gary and I started holding our SPOM's 4 to 5 months before we qualified as Sales Leaders.
What do I do when Business Builders don't seem to be able to bring new people to my weekly SPOM? The best answer we found…start a Weekly SPOM in their home. Why? It's not always easy for someone to get their friends to go to a stranger's house. But, their friends are comfortable and willing to come to their home. So, we went to them. Gary and I were rarely successful at getting a prospect to go with us to our sponsor's house for a SPOM. That's why we started our own. We could get a few people to come to our home.
Then, after a while, we discovered others were just like us. That's why we got our builders started on doing SPOM's in their homes. This is a leadership business. No better way to get started on the road to becoming a leader than to take on leadership responsibilities.
How do I get Business Builders in my personal group to start their own Weekly SPOM's? We would start by scheduling a couple SPOM's in their home that might look a little more like Recruiting Meetings (see below). At the same time, we would encourage them to continue the meeting as a Weekly SPOM which they would conduct. They would invite new prospects, those we had recruited through Opportunity Presentations and those who had signed up as Members through In-Home Events
