SPOM’S – Shaklee Products Opportunity Meetings

What are SPOM's?:

  • SPOM’s are the foundation of a healthy, growing Shaklee Organizations of directors and Sales Leaders.  This is where YOU develop as a leader…this is where you develop OTHER leaders downline under you.  SPOM’s were the foundational building block of our Sales Leader Organization.

  • SPOM’s are Weekly (at a minimum every other week) and are generally held in your own home.  However, occasionally someone will choose to hold their SPOM outside their home in a public location.

  • A Weekly SPOM is not the same as an In-Home Product Event.  An In-Home should never be considered as an equal replacement for a Weekly SPOM.

The Purpose of the Weekly SPOM is:

  • To have a place to bring new prospects & new Members who are interested in exploring further the Business Opportunity in Shaklee.

  • To have a place to provide information or training, inspiration & motivation for your Builders.  Serious builders will always show up at your Weekly SPOM’s.

  • Where you have an opportunity to develop and continue to improve your skills as a leader.  This is your own personal training ground…the meetings you’ll learn the most from are the meetings you conduct.

  • When you get to hear yourself present the Shaklee Opportunity weekly, you stay motivated.

  • To build community and relationships within your personal group.  These positive relationships can help many who initially struggle with getting their business off the ground "stay the course’.  You will find many of your members who regularly attend will tell you this is the only positive environment they are in all week!

  • When you don’t have people showing up for your Weekly Meeting, it reveals to you the need to get to work contacting people from your list for appointments…don’t stop holding the meeting…get out and get new people.

  • Numbers are not important…our weekly SPOM’s generally were attended by 2 to 8 people.  Even if no one comes…hold the meeting.

What do I do at a Weekly SPOM?

A Weekly SPOM generally will include a segment devoted to each of the following…75 minutes is a good length:

(5 min)        Shaklee & Your Personal Story:

Whay I came into Shaklee and what's happened since.

(5 min)        Recognition

Tell stories about current success happening in your group.  This is the way to keep your meetings fresh and exciting.

(15 min)      The Products

Feature different products each week.  Testimonies can be more powerful than facts and figures.

(40 min)      Opportunity Presentation

This is the  heart of the SPOM…every week!  Tell stories, stories, stories…paint a picture of the Sales Plan.  Include 1099’s & Bonus Statements.  Too many details are boring.

(10 min)  A Training or Motivational Topic

Topics can include personal growth, goal setting, prospecting, etc.

We closed every meeting with, "Come back next week and bring someone new with you!"

How do you get people to attend SPOT’s?  The simple answer, "You invite them!"

  • Once you present the Opportunity to a new prospect…you invite them to your SPOT in order for them to further explore the possibility of getting involved in Shaklee.

A comfortable way to invite these people is, "Would you like to attend a Shaklee Product Opportunity Meeting at our home to see what we do?"

  • You can invite people to attend who have not seen a Shaklee Presentation…their first exposure to the Opportunity Presentation will occur during the SPOT.

  • Our preference was always to have a new prospect attend a SPOT after they have seen an Opportunity Presentation.
