In order to give you a basic understanding of our program’s potential and the value of staying power, let me tell you the Gary & Faye Burke story. I’ll focus on the following questions:
How did we get involved with Shaklee?
Are the products as good as people say?
Is Shaklee a great company?
Can I/we be successful in this business?
I’m not interested in trying to persuade you to join Shaklee. If you find Shaklee isn’t for you, I hope you’ll find another opportunity that will excite you. On the other hand, if you find Shaklee just might be what you’ve dreamed about; if you like what you see; give us a try. While risk is small, the potential rewards and benefits are huge - financial, family advantages, self-development and having control of your time are just a few.
But, don’t analyze the program to death. Don’t try to line up all your ducks before you do anything. There is a wonderful principle which says: “You don’t learn before you go, you learn as you go.” Once you decide to get involved in Shaklee, get to work.
How did we get involved with Shaklee?
When Faye and I were introduced to the wonderful world of Shaklee, little did we know what was in store for us. I got excited immediately; it took Faye a little longer. My sponsor caught my attention by talking about the future, hope, having fun, living a unique lifestyle and being associated with a terrific company. I was sponsored that day.
We started to attend meetings and made a decision to find out what was true and what wasn’t. We had four basic questions:
Is it true about these products?
Is it true about this company?
Does this method or system of distributing products really work?
Do people really earn excellent incomes?
We immediately started using some products, talking with people and attending as many meetings as possible. We were very fortunate we were sponsored into an organization where our ‘uplines’ told us we could build an organization of leaders, not just sell products. The building part really captured our attention because neither of us really enjoyed selling. I never have enjoyed making transactions.
At heart, I’m a teacher, a coach, a leader. If this had been a “selling only” business I would not have gotten involved. But, this was something I could build…..it was simple…I would learn how to build a business and then teach and coach others to do the same. I was back in coaching!
After going to a number of meetings and coming in contact with many successful people in Shaklee, we decided we wanted what our sponsor and the other speakers were promising:
| Unlimited income potential | Unlimited growth opportunity |
| Small investment required | I could start part-time |
| Work from home | Support and training |
| No employees | Excellent products |
| No territorial restrictions | Challenging work |
With each passing week, we were developing a deeper understanding of The Shaklee Dream Plan. This produced deeper belief and excitement about our own future in Shaklee. We learned:
The only way to learn the business was to get involved.
The only way to Master Coordinator was to build through recruiting.
With this growing belief and excitement, we were ready to start working really hard.
That’s when we also started to discover some realities of building a successful Shaklee business. Among them, everyone wasn’t as interested or as positive about this opportunity as we were.
It seemed harder than I thought it would be, but I met people right in my own community who were earning $5000 to $10,000 a month….in 1970! (Today many in Shaklee earn from $10,000 to over $100,000 a month.) So, I decided I could learn how to do what they were doing. It just might take a little longer than I thought. I took advantage of every available resource:
I attended local area meetings weekly and took notes.
I located books and magazines about leadership, goal setting, sales, etc.
I listened to the stories of successful Shaklee leaders.
I ordered albums on leadership, goal setting, sales.
I found someone to be my mentor. This made a ton of difference. Since he was out of state, I would call him periodically with questions. He became an invaluable resource.
Then, I set aside 3 nights one week and 4 nights the next to include weekly meetings that I attended, weekly meetings at our home for new people, prospecting appointments, small group product events.
We began to make progress month by month; year by year.
Are the products as good as people say?
At the weekly meetings we attended, we heard stories again and again about how the products met the needs of people. I had a difficult time at first because some of the stories of improved health were so dramatic. But, then I got to know many of the people who shared these personal testimonies and found they were really true. I learned Shaklee has products that work, that people want and need and that are easy to sell.
Is Shaklee a great company?
For over 38 years, we have been proud to be associated with Shaklee Corporation. But today our new owner, Roger Barnett, has opened up an incredible new future for Shaklee. Just 40 years old, with a law degree from Yale, an MBA from Harvard, this successful entrepreneur has already built two companies to over $1 billion each. He is now bringing his experience and outstanding leadership skills to Shaklee where he has a goal for Shaklee to become the #1 company of its kind in the world.
We are part of an $80 billion industry that has enjoyed 18 consecutive years of growth; currently growing at a rate of over $4 billion a year. Believe me, the future in Shaklee has never looked better than it does today.
Can I/we be successful in this business?
Yes, you can. We have found everything my sponsor told me about the future of Shaklee and its possibilities for us to be true. In fact, our success is even greater than what he showed as possible on that first day we met in his home. Faye and I have a lifestyle beyond what we dreamed in our early years in this business. Shaklee has paid us over $11 million since we first began this wonderful journey. And, along the way we have been able to help many others achieve a lifestyle for themselves beyond what they thought possible as well.
We would love you to join us. Here are a few key reasons you might want to consider joining Shaklee to build a wonderful future for yourself and your family.
The Shaklee Dream Plan is real
